There seems to be some kind of an almost genetic disposition towards some kinds of music, perhaps engendered by our parent's in our formative years. <br /><br />Early recordings owned by parents are often very intriguing, giving one an insight not only into their taste, but also their emotional spectrum. <br /><br />I was shocked to see a TV programme using music by the Beatles to define the life of 'old folk' but I suppose a half-century ago is easily now old enough for such a label.
